Weavers…

I binge-watched the second season of A Discovery of Witches a couple of weeks ago. In it, the main character, Diana, a present-day witch, has gone back hundreds of years in time to find a teacher who can help her unlock and understand her natural powers. There is a fantastic line in the third episode when Diana first sees “threads of light” dancing in the air in front of her. She learns from her teacher that she is a weaver, and that what she is seeing “is the warp and weft of all life in the cosmos made visible.”

Reference.com:
In weaving, weft and warp refer to the two sets of thread that are woven together to produce fabric. The weft refers to the threads that run horizontally on the loom and get woven in front of and behind the warp. The warp refers to the threads that are strung vertically on the loom.

As this was being said, I immediately thought of patterns, grids, ratios, astrology, ley lines, meridians, nadis, frequencies, harmonics, vibrations – sacred geometry! I do believe that all of this is part of natural laws that operate around and inside of us – and is what connects us to each other.

I’ve had flashes about this before. For example, imagine laying a small transparent cutout of yourself anywhere on a large piece of grid paper (which happens to display the continents), so that you can see the lines running through your body. Imagine, also, placing cutouts of friends, family, and acquaintances onto that grid wherever you’d like.

Now think of those lines that intersect underneath the cutouts as personal coordinates, like longitude and latitude. And just consider that when you’ve been thinking about a friend and that friend contacts you soon after, it is because your thoughts travel on the lines, energy that is weaving itself from Point A to Point B.

The warp and weft.

I would also suggest that synchronicities function in much the same manner. Here’s a bit of backstory about such an experience from last week:

Tricia initially found me and my first book through an Energy Medicine FB group in 2019. She was probably one of the first people to order “love-light” and got in touch with me when she received her copy. I printed out her response immediately (literally my first review!), which has graced my office bulletin board ever since.

Lisa, your beautiful book arrived at my door today in Australia. I just LOVE it. The words, the gorgeous illustrations. It’s beauty in its simplicity. The icing on the cake is the wonderful breathing exercises you offer at the end. Just wonderful. Thank you xxx.

I live in California, and as you’ve just read, Tricia lives in Australia. Though we have never met, Tricia has championed each of my books as if we were the best of friends. We may be many coordinates apart on the grid, but we are connected.

Tricia contacted me last week after reading my blog post that referenced Christina Noble, who created a foundation for orphans in Vietnam (https://finding-the-write-words.com/2021/04/04/I-walk/.) Guess what? Tricia’s daughter-in-law is the current acting CEO of the very same organization!

  1. Hi Lisa, your blog brought back memories of my Mother I think she was an intuitive although she would not agree with me. We did not have a phone until I was 16,. We would be sitting around the table and my Mother would say I have been thinking about so and so and with in days that person would show up at our door. If you were setting the table and you dropped a knife it foretold of a visitor a woman or if it was a fork it was a man. My Mothers favorite saying was “future advents cast their shadow”. Thank you for your blogs I really enjoy them.
