Book three review…

Readers’ Favorite five-star seal!

Lovely words by Matt Lebois from Readers’ Favorite:

In Did You Know: Forevermore, Lisa White shares her understanding of energy medicine with readers of all ages who have experienced loss, whether a beloved family member, friend, or pet. Through gentle, rhyming text, the author provides a hopeful meditation on universal love and connectedness. The messaging transcends any particular brand of faith or cultural practice. The general spirituality demonstrated here can be understood by all. Younger readers will need adult guidance through the text, but the core concept will be familiar and comforting to all ages. Even those who are not acutely feeling the loss of someone close to them will find joy in the idea of the energy of love flowing all around us. The book closes with simple exercises that anyone can do to center their energy and consciously experience the flow of energy that is so thoughtfully described.

The bright, simple watercolor illustrations by Stephanie Rosas make a perfect accompaniment to the text. They bring color and light into the experience, without minimizing the impact of the loss of loved ones. Showing figures of all ages, from multiple ethnicities, tenderly showing how we are affected by the loss of treasured people and pets, they emphasize the universal nature of this experience and help to visualize the eternal nature of love. The patterns gracing the alternating text pages add further warmth and beautifully compliment the full-page illustrations. On the whole, Did You Know: Forevermore by Lisa White is the perfect length to address this deeply human subject. Readers who find this volume comforting will want to experience the whole series of books.
